World Class Crab Races, Crab Feed & Derby

Westport is the perfect getaway this spring break. With the Mermaid Festival (refer to earlier
blog regarding this event) every weekend in April and the World Class Crab Races, Crab Feed & 
Derby happening April 19 th, there is so much fun to be had! Whether you plan to visit by
yourself, with a friend, or with family, there is so much to do.
The World Class Crab Races, Crab Feed & Derby is such a unique experience. It all takes place at
the marina in Westport. There is a small entry fee. You will enjoy feasting on delicious crab and
other seafood. Sign up for the Crab Derby beginning at 11 am and watch the races from 1pm-
5pm. This is an event you don’t get to see every day.
Plan a walk along the marina and take the bait and drop a crab pot in the water. Test your luck
with catching some delicious crab of your own. There are shops with gear available to rent and
you can purchase a fishing license there as well.. How fun! If you have kids, they will enjoy this
too.
After the long day, come lie your head on our nice soft pillows. Stay at one of our newly
renovated hotels and enjoy the stylish, modern rooms.
